SRIYA Motherhood Companion App • Last updated: October 23, 2026
SRIYA ("the App", "we", "us") is a pregnancy companion app designed to help mothers track their pregnancy journey with care and privacy in mind. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using SRIYA, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
SRIYA is developed and operated by W K B M P Fernando (Sri Lanka), who is responsible for the App and for the handling of your information as described in this policy. Please also read our Terms of Use.
SRIYA collects information you choose to enter into the App in order to provide its core features. This information is stored securely in our database (Google Firebase) and is associated only with your individual account.
The following information is entered voluntarily by you to power the App's tracking features:
If you choose to use My Contacts, you may save up to 25 people who are important during your pregnancy (such as your hospital, doctor, midwife, family or friends). For each one you enter a name and phone number, and you may add a photo. You may star up to 3 of them as your main contacts; they receive your emergency message and are ticked first when you share an appointment. You may also save an emergency number (such as your local ambulance number) in Emergency Contacts.
These details are visible only to you, and they are deleted when you delete a contact or your account. Please only add another person's name, number or photo with that person's knowledge.
SRIYA never reads your phone's own contact list and never sends a text message by itself. When you send an emergency alert or share an appointment, SRIYA opens your phone's Messages app (or WhatsApp or another app, if you choose) with the message ready, and nothing is sent until you press Send.
SRIYA uses your location only when you use the "In Case of Emergency" alert, so that your location can be included in the emergency message to your starred contacts. SRIYA does not store your location on our servers and does not track your location in the background. You can allow or refuse location permission at any time in your phone settings.
SRIYA uses your device's camera or photos only when you choose to attach a photo to a journal entry, event, medical record, baby details, a special date, a contact in My Contacts, or your profile picture. Photos are uploaded only when you actively select or take one — the App does not access your camera or photos at any other time. On newer Android versions, photos are chosen with Android's built-in photo picker, so SRIYA never has access to your whole photo gallery. You can remove a photo at any time, and it is then deleted from our storage.
If you use the My Playlist feature, the music files you choose to upload are stored securely in Google Firebase and are only available to your account.
If you use the "Ask a Question" feature (AI Daily Advice) or AI Q&A, your question — along with your name, current pregnancy week, and trimester — is sent to a third-party AI service provider (Groq) to generate a response. See Section 3 for details.
If you submit a review or rating within the App, this is stored and associated with your account.
If you choose to use the "Chat with Mothers" feature, you may set a chat nickname and exchange messages with other users. Your nickname and messages are visible to the other participant in that conversation. If you report a message or user, the report content is only visible to us (the App developers) via our administrative console — it is never shown to the person you reported. If you delete your account, your chat conversations and messages are permanently deleted along with your other data (see Section 10).
To make chatting easier, SRIYA also stores whether each message has been seen (shown as ✓ / ✓✓ ticks — you can hide your own seen ticks in the chat menu), the number of unread messages in each conversation, and a notification token for your phone so we can tell you when a new message arrives. You can turn chat notifications off at any time in the chat menu.
If SRIYA crashes or has a serious error, the App automatically sends a crash report to Google Firebase Crashlytics. A crash report contains technical information only, such as which part of the App failed, your phone model, Android version and an anonymous installation identifier. It does not contain your health entries, journal, photos or messages. SRIYA also measures app speed (for example, how long a screen takes to load) with Firebase Performance Monitoring. We use this information only to find and fix problems.
If you report a chat message, another user or an AI answer, we store your report (the reason, any note you add, and a copy of the reported message or answer) so we can review it and keep the community safe. Reports are only visible to us.
We do not use your information for advertising, and SRIYA does not display ads or sell your data to advertisers.
| Third Party | What is shared | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase | All account and health-tracking data, contacts, photos and uploaded music described in Section 1 | Secure cloud storage and authentication for the App |
| Groq (AI service provider) | Your typed question, mother's name, pregnancy week, and trimester | To generate a response to your question via the "Ask a Question" (AI Daily Advice) and AI Q&A features |
| Google Firebase Crashlytics and Performance Monitoring | Crash reports and app performance data (technical information only: phone model, Android version, anonymous installation identifier) | To find and fix crashes and slow screens |
| Other SRIYA users (Chat with Mothers) | Your chosen nickname and any messages you send | To enable peer-to-peer conversations within the App's Chat with Mothers feature |
| Google Play | Purchase and subscription details (Google Play handles the payment; we only receive the purchase status, plan and expiry date) | To process Paid/Premium plan purchases and subscriptions |
Messages you choose to send from your own Messages app, WhatsApp or another app are sent by that app under its own privacy policy, not by SRIYA.
We do not sell your personal or health information to any third party for any purpose, including advertising.
SRIYA offers optional Paid and Premium plans. All purchases and subscriptions are processed by Google Play. We never receive or store your card or bank details — these are handled entirely by Google Play under Google's own privacy policy.
To activate your plan, we keep a purchase record (such as the plan, purchase status and expiry date) linked to your SRIYA account. Free trials automatically become paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions.
SRIYA may also offer promo codes, which you can enter in the App to unlock a plan for a set period.
Your information is stored using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore for your entries, and Firebase Storage for photos and uploaded music), which applies encryption in transit and at rest. Access to your personal data within the App is restricted to your own account through Firebase security rules — other users cannot read or modify your data, other than the chat nickname and messages you choose to send within Chat with Mothers, which are visible to the person you are chatting with.
While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your information for as long as your account remains active, or as needed to provide you the App's features. If you would like your account and associated data deleted, please see Section 10 below, or contact us using the details in Section 9.
SRIYA is intended only for adults aged 18 or older and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it. See also our Child Safety Standards.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how your information is handled, please contact us at:
You can permanently delete your SRIYA account and all associated data directly within the App:
This will immediately and permanently delete your account, pregnancy tracker data, journal entries, medical records, contacts, photos, uploaded music, chat conversations and messages, and all other information associated with your account. This action cannot be undone.
If you are unable to access the App, you may also request account deletion by emailing us at sriyamotherhoodcompanion@gmail.com with the subject line "Delete My Account" and the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 7 business days.
You can also read our Delete Your Account page, which explains how to delete your account or only some of your data.
Data kept after deletion: We do not keep your SRIYA data after your account is deleted, except as described here. Purchase records are kept by Google Play under Google's own privacy policy, and the purchase record we keep is unlinked from your deleted account. Unlock codes you have used stay marked as "used" so they cannot be used again. Safety reports you sent about other users or AI answers may be kept to help keep the community safe, but they are no longer linked to your account. Crash reports are kept by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days. Deleted data may remain for a limited time in our service providers' routine backup systems before it is permanently erased.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
